Slowing Down to Speed Up: How Taking a Break Can Help You Work Smarter, Not Harder
Did you know that by incorporating more rest into your daily routine, you can actually unlock your full potential? You might be asking yourself, what does slowing down even mean?
I’ve been making a conscious effort to incorporate more rest into my daily routine, and it has become an essential part of my mental health and well-being. By slowing down and doing less, I’m making room for the things I’ve been wanting, waiting, and asking for. Things are finally looking up!
I’m currently rereading “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle, and it’s hitting me differently each time I read it. I find myself in a new season and as a result, am also feeling like a new person.
The key to all of this is slowing down and being present. It’s here in this present moment that we create our future (the things we’re working on and towards), but without intention, it’s just active busyness and busy work, especially if you are unclear.
Taking time to rest allows for the details and the “how” to come to fruition. It’s time to prune the dead-ends, nurture, care, and rest, and watch what naturally unfolds before your own eyes. Listen, hard work is “hard work,” but if we don’t take time to experience or appreciate the fruits of our labor, then it is just meaningless.
In fact, after returning from a 2-week vacation to Madrid and Paris, I found myself ahead of schedule and had our best launch to date: [The Confident Woman Impact Accelerator](insert waitlist link). Additionally, my apparel brand, I Am Athletics, had the opportunity to join the Columbus Fashion Council and CBUS Retail for an incredible interactive fashion and retail experience – our biggest event to date! I had the privilege of sharing my story with hundreds of people, connecting with them, and hearing their stories, which led to powerful conversations and a sense of connection and belonging.
By being open, clear, honest, accepting, loving, and grateful, you, too, can harness the power of simply being yourself. If you’re looking for more community, connection, and collaboration, we’ve got all of that inside The Confident Woman. Become who you’re created to be!
So go ahead, embrace the power of now, and rest.
