Have you ever hit a season where everything just goes quiet?
You’re doing all the right things — showing up, praying, journaling, reading — and yet nothing. Crickets. Silence.
I’ve been there. In fact, that’s where I’ve been lately.
It’s that in-between space: not where you were, not yet where you’re going. The silence between the question and the answer. The waiting between the promise and the proof.
And if I’m honest, it’s uncomfortable. It makes you question everything — your direction, your worth, even your faith.
I’ve sat in front of my journal with worship music playing and tears just sitting in my eyes — too afraid to blink because if I did, they’d fall across the page and blur the words I’d just written.
I kept wondering: What am I even waiting for? What am I missing?
But here’s what God showed me — maybe He wasn’t being silent at all. Maybe He was inviting me to listen differently. To stop chasing answers and start noticing His presence in the quiet.
Maybe the stillness isn’t a punishment; maybe it’s an invitation.
3 Steps to Trust God in the Silence
- Shift the Story. Silence doesn’t mean absence. God is working, even when you can’t see or feel it. Trust that His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with yours.
- Loosen Your Grip. The more we try to control the outcome, the more anxious we become. Let go of needing to know how and start trusting Who does.
- Stay Present. Stop rushing to the next thing. Be still long enough to hear the whisper beneath the noise: Be still and know that I am God.
3 Points to Ponder
- What if God isn’t being silent but speaking in a new way?
- Where am I trying to force something that God is asking me to trust Him with?
- How would my faith change if I stopped hustling for answers and started resting in His presence?
Scripture for the Soul
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Stillness isn’t weakness. It’s where your strength is renewed.
When life feels uncertain, our natural response is to move faster, to fix, figure out, or force what we don’t understand. But this verse calls us to do the opposite. To pause. To breathe. To trust that God is still moving, even when everything around us seems motionless.
Stillness is where faith becomes real — not in the noise of doing, but in the quiet of being. It’s the sacred space where we stop striving to make things happen and start allowing God to do what only He can.

You’re not forgotten, friend. You’re being refined.
